Using the ScareCrow is easy. Simply attach a standard garden hose to its base, set the ScareCrow in the ground in the area you want to protect, and then turn on the water. Once you switch the unit on, it is ready to go.

How does it work?
The ScareCrow uses a combination of sudden noise, unexpected movement, and a startling blast of water to create a memorable and unpleasant experience for the trespasser.
The animal immediately associates this unpleasant experience with the location, and to avoid similar surprises, learns to avoid the area. If an animal chooses to return, the ScareCrow will be waiting.
While a human may flee several steps after activating a ScareCrow, animals are typically affected to a much greater degree. In most cases they run much farther, and stay away longer. Because the unit only triggers when the animal moves, its behavior is difficult for animals to anticipate, making it a very effective deterrent.

We were having a difficult time keeping rabbits off our lawn. One had returned yet again to start another nest, after I had cautiously relocated her bunnies from her last litter to another area. I was concerned as I did not want to cause any harm to her offspring. Rating: - What a great product!
Before the Scarecrow, my garden was being "eaten alive" by all sorts of pests...racoons, skunks, squirrels, etc. Even after covering with chicken wire and mesh, they figured out a way to get in. With the scarecrow in place, I took down the ugly chicken wire and my garden was left untouched! It's a terrific concept (wish I would have thought of it) that really truly works. Just have to remember to turn it off before tending to your crops, or else your its next victim. Fantastic product!

I live in an area that is dominated by cat lovers, but I am a bird lover. My feeding area for birds became a smorgasbord for cats. Every few days I would find a pile of Dove feathers. I bought my Scarecrow to deal with skunks that are digging for grubs throughout my small front yard. It has appeared to generally work, though certainly not entirely. The main failing I see for the product is the limited sensor range. The water will easily sweep my entire lawn, but it's difficult to find a placement that ensures a skunk anywhere in the yard will trip it. Seems it works better if you have a narrow space through which animals are traveling.

Rating: - Keeps the deer away
I bought one of these and when I seen how well it worked, I bought two more. They really do keep the deer away from my plants. My azaleas were in bloom this spring and I didn't have to place nets over them. In fact, the deer have learned to walk around the perimeter of the yard as not to set off the scarecrow. Once I set up the scarecrows, I left them in place. I may have to move them around some next year just to keep the deer wondering. I do get sprayed myself sometimes but it is kind of fun. ...
